Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 5, 2026

This policy explains how Drive Backup Manager, a Windows desktop application, accesses, uses, stores, and shares information, including Google user data.

Purpose

Drive Backup Manager backs up Google Drive files and folders configured by the user to storage on the user's Windows PC.

Google user data

The application requests https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.readonly and uses it to read file and folder metadata and content needed to create and update the backups configured by the user. The application does not use this permission to modify or delete content in Google Drive.

Storage and sharing

Backed-up files are stored in a destination selected by the user on the Windows PC. OAuth tokens are stored in the current Windows user profile and protected with Windows DPAPI. Google Drive content is not uploaded to or stored on a developer-operated backend server, is not sold, and is not used for advertising or ad profiling.

Retention and deletion

Local backups remain under the user's control until the user deletes them. The user can revoke the application's Google account access and can remove locally stored application state and credentials.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Drive Backup Manager's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
